Christmas Nails and Loreal Dupe

I love December, I love Christmas and I love any excuse to add a bit of sparkle to my daily make-up routine, especially my nails. I’d seen Loreal’s ‘Gold Leaf’ Top Coat advertised in one of my monthly magazine subscriptions and knew I had to have it. That was until BarryM brought out their Aquarium Range which included ‘Treasure Chest’ an identical polish for half the price so I ended up buying two polishes from the Aquarium Range for the same price the ‘Gold Leaf’ would have been, such a good buy. I’m yet to complete my aquarium collection but I’m sure it won’t be long (hint hint Santa).

For my Christmas nail look I’ve used BarryM ‘Treasure Chest’ as mentioned above, BarryM Gelly Nail Paint in ‘Blood Orange’ and Orly ‘Tough Cookie’ as a top coat. I love BarryM’s Gelly range as they add that little extra shine and they tend to last longer than their normal polishes. I brought the first 5 when they released them a couple of years ago and haven’t stopped since, I can’t wait to try some from their winter range.

I used the ‘Blood Orange’ Gelly as a base coat, although you can get away with just using one coat of this polish because it covers so well I always find it best to use two coats. I waited for this to dry fully before adding ‘Treasure Chest’ as my top coat or glitter coat as I sometimes call it. Then I finished my nail look of with Orly’s ‘Tough Cookie’ as a clear top coat, this adds shine like you’ve never seen before and if you apply this every two to three days your nails can last up to 2 weeks with not one chip!
I can’t wait to try more Christmasy looks, what’s your favourite Festive nail paint?

LOVE Barry M! The only brand of nail wear that I use because of them being Cruelty free and awesome. So perfectly Christmassy. Very pretty indeed.
