iWhite 2 is an instant teeth whitening kit that works with a gel to remove stains and strengthen teeth. I’ve been wanting to get my teeth whitened for a while now – my teeth are quite stained which I can only put down to excessive tea drinking. I thought I’d give a home whitening kit a go before I made the expensive trip to the dentist to get them professionally done.
This kit works with disposable trays that are pre-filled with a whitening gel. These trays are “one size fits all” which means no faffing trying to make the trays fit your teeth as they simply slide over. Mine fitted perfectly but I can image this won’t be the case for everyone. The trays should be worn for 20 minutes each time, disposing of them immediately after. There are 10 sets in the box and these can be worn for a maximum of 5 consecutive days. iWhite 2 claims to make your teeth up to 8 shades whiter.
I was impressed with how easy it was to use – I think the hardest bit was getting the trays out of the foil packet. Or sitting quietly for 20 minutes. You only need to push down gently on the trays in order for the gel to cover the front and the back of your teeth. Don’t bite down on the trays at all whilst they’re in your mouth. This can cause excess gel to ooze out (it doesn’t taste nice). I found it easier to put my tongue in between the top and bottom trays.
I didn’t notice any difference after the first use so I decided to continue and do the full 5 day course. And I’m slightly disappointed with the results. Of course I wasn’t expecting miracles but I don’t think this is anyway near “8 shades whiter”. However, I’d love to see the results if anyone else has tried this kit? Treatments like this can work completely different on other individuals. Although this hasn’t worked for me, I’d love to hear if it has for you. If you want to give this kit a go yourself it’s available from Boots here. Let me know how you get on if you do try it.
Have you tried iWhite 2 or any other home whitening kits? How did they work for you?
Until next time,
