Superdrug (well their PR company) sent me this wonderful hamper* towards the beginning of the week and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Although I’m going on holiday tomorrow I’ve been so stressed and busy on the lead up to it and this was just perfect for some pre holiday pampering. I wanted to share the contents with you and my thoughts so far in case you wanted to check any of the products our for yourself but I will be writing some more about the products once I’m home from my holiday.
Scholl Luxury Pedicure Set – I’ve heard so much about these and couldn’t wait to try it. I could have done with this in my teen years as I suffered really badly with athletes foot, I tried absolutely everything to get rid of it, pumice stones, scrubs, medical creams but nothing worked, I really don’t think it can be treated as one day I just woke up and it had gone, there’s no sign I ever had it and it’s not come back since (touch wood). This ‘machine’ looks quite scary at first, I thought it was going to grind my feet of but I couldn’t be more wrong once I’d tried it, even though it’s removing the dry skin from your feet it does it so gently, the hydration serum included is lovely too and has made my feet ‘holiday ready’.
Lighterlife Fast Shakes and Lighterlife Fast Meal Replacement Bars– I’ve read a lot about the 5:2 diet and spoken to people that have been on it and seen results. Although I’m against ‘extreme’ dieting this seem sort of sensible and will be perfect to get rid of my holiday weight after next week. For the 5:2 diet you eat normally for five days and fast for the other two; fasting doesn’t mean not eating anything but cutting your calorie intake down to 600 for the two ‘fasting’ days. I’ve been sent enough shakes and bars for two fasting days so I’m going to try this for a week once I get home and let you know the results. The shakes are available in Banana and Chocolate too.
Barebar Red Berries – You’re probably getting fed up of cereal bars featured on my blog by now but I can’t get enough of them. They’re such a ‘go-to’ snack for me (providing they’re actually healthy and not full of sugar), the bars by Leader are another Gluten, Wheat and Dairy Free snack containing 159 calories. I’m not sure whether these contain added sugar rather than natural sugars though as it doesn’t state ‘no added sugar’ on the packet, I enjoyed it either way though as I love berry flavours.
Silver Line Complete Skin Beauty Tablets – I can’t wait to start taking these as my skin has started breaking out again even though I STILL haven’t touched junk food; I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I wanted to take these right away but with holiday coming up I knew that even if I packed them I’d still manage to forget to take them. This contains 28 days worth of Vitamin, Argan Oil and Wheatgerm tablets meaning you take three tablets in total each day. I’m going to start taking these as soon as I get home and I’ll post regular updates on Twitter as well as taking before and after photos. Fingers crossed they work wonders!
Leader Detox Smoothie – This is their ‘All-in-One Superfood Smoothie’ and contains pineapple, banana, apple, orange, barley grass, spirulina, spinach, rice protein, pea protein, hemp protein, psyllium, basil, mint, ginger, birch leaf, nettle leaf and chlorella, I probably didn’t need to list all of the ingredients but I just wanted to show you exactly how much was in it. You make this by adding cold water and it’s best served with ice. Has anyone tried Leader Smoothies before? Which one/s would you recommend?
Barefoot Lemon and Sage Foot Scrub – I love giving my feet a bit of ‘TLC’, I’ve been using a foot scrub by Avon recently which has almost ran out so I can’t wait to try this one (I try to refrain from opening two similar products at once).
Barefoot Peppermint and Plum Foot Lotion – Peppermint and feet, two things that you always see together. Why is Peppermint associated with feet, is it to remove the ‘feet’ smell or is their a scientific reasoning behind it? Either way I love Peppermint whether it’s for you feet or your face *remembers Mean Girls quote* and I’m looking forward to using this.
Have you tried any of these products before? What did you think? Will you be trying any of these in the near future?
