When I mentioned Valentines Week to my fiancé, Chocolate Fudge Brownies were the only thing he suggested. I tried to think of creative ideas to make them Valentines themed but as you can see… I’m not that creative. I did consider cutting them into hearts but the sprinkles add the subtle Valentines touch I was after. These Brownies are the perfect sticky, gooey kind – cooked on a low heat for 40+ minutes to make sure they keep a fudgey texture.
Chocolate Fudge Brownies Ingredients:
Makes 8 Chocolate Brownies
135g butter or margarine
180g caster sugar
50g self-raising flour
30g cocoa powder
Any filling or topping of your choice e.g. Chocolate Chips or Sprinkles
Preparation: 10 minutes | Baking: 40 minutes
1. Preheat oven to 180c (160c fan), butter and line a baking tin with greaseproof paper.
2. The all-in-one method makes these Chocolate Fudge Brownies so simple. Put all of the ingredients except for your filling (if you’re using one) into a bowl and mix gently until well combined. Add your filling and mix again for 30 seconds.
3. Pour the mixture into your prepared baking tin and level the top. Bake for 30 minutes then cover the top with tin foil and bake for a further 10 minutes. This allows the Brownies to cook without burning the top. I added my sprinkles after 30 minutes cooking. Bake until the top of the Brownies have hardened and a skewer comes out clean. Allow to cool.
