Las Iguanas Bristol Harbourside Reopening

Las Iguanas Bristol Harbourside has recently had a renovation/redecorating and I was kindly invited to the reopening last Thursday evening – along with many other Bristol Bloggers and Journalists. I love Las Iguanas, especially the Mexican choices so I could not wait. I was eyeing up the menu the second the invitation hit my Inbox. Being a Vegetarian – and a picky one at that – I like to have a look at menus before eating at a restaurant. I’m sure I’m not the only one? I was so pleased to see all the different Vegetarian options on the menu, from the Veggie Chilli and Burritos to the Cauliflower and Corn Risotto or the Black Bean and Beetroot Burger. There was so much choice.

Las Iguanas Bristol Harbourside Chicken Quesadilla

As much as I tried to resist, I just had to have the Mexican. I went for Nachos to start with the Veggie Chilli for my main. Sam also went for Mexican with the Chicken Quesadillas to start and the Chicken Burrito to follow. We’re both HUGE Mexican lovers and as much as we wanted to try something different we knew we’d instantly regret it if the other options weren’t as dreamy as the Mexican options – which of course we won’t know until we step out of our comfort zone and actually try them…

My starter of Nachos was such a large portion – definitely enough for a sharing starter which I’m sure we’ll do next time we visit. Sam’s starter of Chicken Quesadillas was filled with chicken, peppers, onion and cheese and served with a Tomato Salsa. The Veggie Chilli that I went for for my main course is an absolute dream. A sweet potato, butternut squash, chickpea and spiced tomato chilli served with a spring onion rice and topped with sour cream and pink pickled onion. It is divine. Vegetarian or not I urge you to try this one. I cannot get enough of it. Sam also loved his Smoked Chipotle Chicken Burritos.

Of course this was washed down with multiple 2 for 1 cocktails, or mocktails in my case. I went for the Raspberry Iced Tea which I thoroughly enjoyed and Sam made his way through the Strawberry Daiquari, Long Island Iced Tea and the El Presidante with the Strawberry Daiquaris being his favourite. Sam and I are very similar when it comes to drinks and both really love the berry flavours.

Have you visited Las Iguanas Bristol Harbourside? I can’t wait for you to see the redesign.

Until next time,
