Getting a good night’s sleep is so important to me so I’m sure it comes as no surprise when I say I’ve been struggling with the lack of sleep since becoming a Mum. I knew it was going to be difficult but I don’t think I was quite ready for being up every 2 hours for the last 14 weeks – and counting. As well as trying to run my business, keep up with friendships, family, a relationship other than Mum and Dad, maintain a social media presence and spend every waking moment doing all I can for Arthur. Then add global pandemic to that list – it’s been tough – but that’s a story for another day.
I feel like I spend half my life propped up against the headboard of the bed, whether that’s feeding Arthur during the night, attempting to “work from home” or that rare moment I get to sink into a book whilst Arthur is sleeping soundly next to me. With comfort in mind we’ve recently upgraded our pillows to the gorgeous TEMPUR ® Comfort Pillow. They’re like sleeping on a cloud, which is understandable considering they’ve been developed by NASA. TEMPUR® created the first memory foam pillows and mattresses back in the 1970s, the mattress material originally developed to absorb G force pressure during space flight – to provide an “Out Of This World Sleep Experience”. The TEMPUR ® Comfort Pillow has really helped me make the most out of the little sleep I do get – I find it so much easier to drift off after waking up to feed Arthur multiple times a night.
Although difficult with a newborn; I’ve been trying to stick to a bedtime routine as much as possible. I was very much a night owl before having Arthur but now I’m really starting to enjoy an earlier bedtime and having some time to wind down on an evening. I go up to bed with Arthur around 8pm when he is due his last evening feed, I’ll then try and catch up on magazines, read a book, maybe even paint my nails or do a face mask, trying to keep away from my phone and screens as much as I can. I try to get to sleep around 10:30pm as I never know how long it’s going to be until I’m up again. When Arthur starts sleeping for more than 3 hours that really will be an “Out Of This World Sleep Experience” but for now I’m going to appreciate all the sleep I get – with the added comfort of the TEMPUR ® pillow.
TEMPUR ® have offered my readers the discount code TEMPUR105 for £100 off any mattress (including some that are already discounted and sale items) and an extra £5 off TEMPUR ® pillows. This code is valid until the 20th April. If you’ve been considering a TEMPUR ® mattress I would suggest booking a telephone consultation with your local store – although stores are currently closed, they can go through the options with you and find you the mattress/pillow most suited to your needs. They also offer a 100 night trial.
